| Aimed at arming telephone companies, Internet providers
and network developers with the tools needed to develop service-driven
networks, Sun Microsystems Inc. Tuesday
announced a new
Java technology-enabled version of its network management product, Solstice
Enterprise Manager 3.0.
The latest version of Solstice incorporates the Java dynamic
management kit to provide service providers with a way to manage current
technologies, increase their use of Java and speed application development.
"The rollout of new voice, video, and data services and their
accompanying billing and customer care solutions escalates
performance and scalability requirements for telcos and ISPs,"
said Jack Collins, director of network management products
at Sun Microsystems.
