The TriZetto Group, Inc., the Newport Beach, Calif.-based healthcare ASP, yesterday announced it has signed an agreement to provide its HealthWeb Internet platform to health plan provider Premera Blue Cross.
Premera Blue Cross, which operates as MSC incorporated as Premera Blue Crossin eastern Washington and in Alaska as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, is a regional health plan which serves 1.2 million members in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
Premera is currently implementing Erisco's Facets, TriZetto's health plan administration software and the agreement is the eighth HealthWeb contract that TriZetto has signed with a Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plan.
"2001 was a banner year, given our success at cross-selling HealthWeb to TriZetto's large base of BCBS and other health plan customers," said Gail Knopf, general manager of TriZetto's HealthWeb unit.

Premera is using HealthWeb tools to enable its members, providers, employers and brokers to make online inquiries about eligibility and coverage, ID card requests and health plan enrollment.
