That takes some blood tests, but they are worth the money. of the iron in flesh is in heme form, but the difference is quantitative, not qualitative.

A qualitative blood test is a yes/no test - sort of like a home pregnancy test. It detects whether or not hcg is present indicating pregnancy. A quantitative test measures the amount of hcg present - you receive a number - this occasionally helps to indicate how far along in your pregnancy you are as well as can be monitored regularly to make sure that your hcg number is increasing at a good rate.
My RE was able to get me results same day. I used to have the blood drawn in the morning and he would have my results that afternoon. I would call in the afternoon - give them a few hours but don't call so late that if the nurse / doctor is busy that you end up waiting until tomorrow. The wait would drive me crazy!

Should be back by 3pm. I had to have more then a dozen done with my last pregnancy and she always called me with results around 3-3:30. All the tests were done around 9am. It really depends on how fast the lab does it though.
i'm not sure when to call but at least give them 2 hours or so.
