That's a big tattoo. Here in the US it would cost from $250 to $400. I hope you can find an original design that is smaller, still representative of some aboriginal spiritual entity, and put it on your shoulder blade.
i would guess $300-$400 (but its different everywhere you go)
but why would you want to get a tattoo that someone else already has?
how about, instead, taking that picture to a tattoo artist and telling them you what something similar to it and have them design you a new tattoo just for you - you'll probably be much happier with that because it would be your own.
good luck
Zeb and Lucy are on the right track. To reinterate and add a bit to what they are saying.
Always search for the tattoo artists and not the ink. Here's the deal, Tattoo artists charge on experience, time, ink used, etc. An artist with more experience will probably charge you a bit more than an artist with less experience. Not to say there are not good artist out there with less experience.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. So to price this piece depends on the artist who does it and the time it takes... MySpace.com - Unholy Grail Tattoo and Art Studio - 28 - Male :: Healing times vary person to person as well as depend on the size, placement, and nature of your tattoo. Never scratch or pick at your tattoo while it is http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=340534152HOME |
So look at portfolios, talk to friends and strangers alike WHO have ink. Talk to different artists and see what their interests are, what they like inking the most...any specialities...etc.
Pick an artist you are comfortable with and kind of mesh with.
Some artist have a special something in certain areas....like an artist may be better at black work (tribal and shading), another artist may have a knack for Japanese influenced, and yet one may be great at fantasy works. So look around. Most great tattoo artist can do bout anything, some are sometimes a little better at certain styles cause they dig that style.
Now as far as the ink you have in pic. It is an insult to copy someone else's ink. Original Art especially. Flash is one thing, but when you get something usually you make it yours with a couple of alts here and there. You make it you. So I would say to take the piece you like and talk to the artist you choose. Let them play with it a bit and come up with an original for you. Something inspired by what you found, but something that makes it all yours and nobody else's.
Some artists wont even do a copy...they will talk to you and see what they can do to put your personality in it.
Best of Luck!
Probably £60 - £80, you have to take in the account the size, and the detail. From the looks of it, it has some intricut detailing on parts of the tattoo.
in the usa... prob between $100 and $170 depending on where you go. I would have $200 just in case... and kindly tip your artist.
Everywhere has different prices. You need to go around your town to different tattoo shops and ask them. Make sure you look at the artists portfolios and make sure the work they do is top-notch. Don't settle for cheap prices if the work isn't very good. If it is a good price don't don't think you've had a stroke of luck.... you have to make sure that their tattoos are up to par.... artists tend to charge based on how good their work is. but there are also artists who will charge you way too much and still do a half-*** job. You have to make sure their work is good. I cannot stress it enough. Remember that this is permenant. on your skin forever. it's worth it to check out ALL the shops before you make a decision and cost shouldnt be too much of a deciding factor. But also, prices of things change from location to location. And the best thing when you do find a good artist is to make sure to schedule an appointment. Give the artist enough time to work on the tattoo you want. Don't expect to get tattooed right when you want. This rushes artists and no one likes that. If it's a good artist it's worth the wait!!!! And DONT FORGET TO TIP YOUR ARTIST.
