it'll be the first time i have one and i've got loads of piercings but i jus want to know no stupid answers plz
it depends on your pain threshold. my son-in-law has one on the back of his neck said it didn't bother him. just thinking of getting stuck by those needles makes me cringe. since you've got loads of piercings than i'd say you could handle it.
it hurts so bad. a rate from 1-100, i would say 95. and im not exsaderating
I would think that would hurt a lot, and I know a lot of tattoo places where I live do not tattoo necks at all, especially if it is a first tattoo, it's a pretty big commitment as it is not all that easy to cover up if you need to.
I have a tattoo on the top of my vertebrae and the base of my neck and it hurt like hell after about an hour of sitting. It was my 5th tattoo and definitely the most painful!
the neck is NOT! pain full. It works like this for all to read the sun tans you skin over the years. the more exposure to the sun the less pain full it is to get tatted there. example underneath your arm not alot of light tender. forearm lots of light goes right in like butter. Now a good artist will go at a 5-10 second run letting you relax anyway find a focal point and zone out. if it is you frist peice rember to have a full stomac before you go and get you blood sugar up and enjoy it.
It will be unbearably painful and you will not be able to cope without very strong pain killers. Don't believe anyone who says it doesn't hurt because it does. And if the needle is the slightest bit unsterile every needle puncture will grow into a throbbing boil. And the antibiotics that they give you for the septic sores on your body will only increase your resistance to them next time you really need them. Don't have the tattoo it isn't worth the risk.
If you can take pain it will hurt but you just cant think about it.
Hey..i have a tattoo on my neck and i didnt think it was sore and i am a wimp lol!.. it was a bearable pain and a bit tender afterwards.
It all depends on what part of your neck. The left side is sorest as there are more pain receptors in the left side of your body than the right. I have a tattoo that goes across my shoulders and from my neck to about 1/4 of the way down my back. The neck wasn't as sore as the rest but it was still painful enough. Won't last longer than a few minutes though.
The back of the neck is less painful than the front, the pain depends on your tolerance. once the first bit is done you're usually used to it. It's nothing like a piercing as this is quick, tattoo is a constant pain, very hard to explain as everyone is different it can be a pleasant sensation yes weird it sounds but true.

just remember a tattoo is for life, make sure it's a reputable tattoo parlour with all the necessary health and safety certificates and if possible take a look at the tattooists prior work, if in doubt wait a while.

i have a few peircings and 6 tattoos, piercings are nothing at all like getting a tattoo, i am planning on getting a tattoo on my neck in the next few months, i wouldnt know how painful it is, but i got my last tattoo on the side of my foot, and it was very painful, but i it is a pain thats bearable, and well worth it, u can always ask the tattooist to do a test line, if u think it is too painful then get one somewhere else, or just go thru woth it, but i always think the pain is worth it in the end :)
Ok, so here's the thing...getting a tattoo on your neck will hurt more than getting one say on your back or arm. This is because the area on your neck is more sensitive than the other areas on your body (that I have mentioned). Also there isn't a lot of body fat in the neck area (generally) so this is also going to mean that it may be more painful as there is no real 'padding' around your bones - Ouch!
But then again, for half an hour to an hours worth of pain for a life time of pleasure - I would do it!
hi, i have a tattoo on my neck it took about 30mins and i didn't think it was very painful - yes of course it hurt but it was bearable. i also have a tattoo on the bottom of my back that took 2 hours and at times that was unbearable by the spine.
out of the two tattoos the neck hurt a lot less.
its a very differant feeling and pain to piercings as with piercings i found they were one really bad sharp pain then a upto a weeks worth of aching whereas a tattoo feels like scratching while the tattoo is being done and then it stings a little for about an hour after.
just keep it out of the sun until the scab has healed - use bepanthen cream ( or E45 mouisterizing lotion not the thick stuff if you cant get bepanthen ) and whatever you do NO PICKING THE SCAB. also dont soak it in the bath and use a unperfumed soap like the original Dove and pat dry the tattoo do not rub.

You,ll be fine honest, its a slight sting but i guarantee when you get it done you,ll be thinking it wasnt so bad, i have 2 tattoos, one of them is at the top of my neck and it didnt hurt at all, lol.
normally it depends on the pain threshold but there are quite a few nerve endings so it would probably be pretty uncomfortable.
that might hurt but you want it right there go for it
