Ive recently got myself an xbox and presently getting all the stuff needed to softmod. As far as I understand from reading the manual, I can only play games stored on HD if I install XBMC dash, can I play games if I install it as an application instead?

Also any good tutorials of installing XBMC as an application, the manual talks about screencaps that dont exist unfortunately so im a bit confused.

Im going to be using http://www.productwiki.com/microsoft_xbox/article/how_to_go_from_xbox_to_xbox_media_center_in_30_min utes.html to softmod and follow steps 1-6 to softmod and then try and find a way to install XBMC as an app.

Am i talking nonsense?

This is the best and easiest way to use XBMC; just FTP all the player files to the Xbox using any FTP server/client application for Xbox, for example, Avalaunch, XBMP, Evolution-X or MediaXMenu.

This screenshot indicates what you should do to install XBMC for use as an application (Using Flash FXP as an FTP Client).

You will require the following files and folders (and their subfolders):

default.xbe, credits, language, media, skin, system, visualisations, sounds, screensavers, web, UserData.

I honestly dont know how a screenshot would make it any easier to understand so I removed the reference to the missing screenshot and reworded it slightly.

just ftp it over to e.g. f:appsxbmc. make sure you don't have f:appsxbmcxbmc
