What exactly is Ronaldo's reason for wanting to leave Inter? He said he's not going to discuss this publicly, but the whole soccer world seems to think he's the goat in all of this.
If I were him, I would either state my reasons for wanting to leave so badly, or I would just keep quiet and play.
From what I know the team stood by him in his 2 dark years of injury. I agree with Cuper's decision not to play him a lot at the end of last season, because he was breaking down so easily. I have been a supporter of Ronaldo's since about 1996, and I hope that he will allow me to enjoy his play once more. Right now I am disappointed.
I think Ronaldo was really bad: Inter waited, and payed, him when he was injured and do not forget that he has not played since 1998....but Inter still payed him and gave him the possibility to return a great player...and now this is the way he thanks th club...bleah!!
My assumption is that he's got close "friends" and "advisers" whispering in his ear that he is the best player in the world again, and he should be playing for a bigger, better, more storied club than Inter. Not that there are many of those, but clearly, Real is one. But that's just a guess. As you say, he's not letting on what the real story is.
Cuper:
"At this moment my mind is just on this two-legged clash with the Portuguese," he said. "After the return leg on 27 August, we will have time to resolve the Ronaldo case."
Cuper continued: "The fact that it is said that I don't want him in the team because he's Brazilian and I'm Argentinian is completely silly.
"A lot has been said about this matter and in most cases mistakenly, but it's part of the game and we have to accept it. My wish is that this whole matter is resolved, neither in favour of Ronaldo nor Cuper, but only in favour of Inter, as it should be." Soccerfan220, I think you may have been confused. R9 is going back to Brazil right now to play with the National Team in a friendly (Paraguay, I think?). Perhaps that is where you got confused. I'd say Madrid's offer was fairly ridiculous, bordering on insulting. 12 million Euros plus two players (Morientes, Conceicao, Solari). While any of these players are very good, Inter does not seem to need them (or at least doesn't seem desperate). Having paid bombastic sums for ZZ and Figo, Real makes a play to acquire one of the world's deadlies strikers, of which there are very few, while lightening their payroll (and offloading the cost on Inter).
Ronaldo sure would have been a jewel in Real's already glittering crown. Just reading Ronaldo's name in their lineup would have been a real joy (what a collection of players). Why not just pay another bombastic sum of money for a player who may very well be worth it? It's still being done; see ManU's 47 million Euros.
Wait, Real doesn't have that kind of money available? Tough ************. Deal with it, the rest of the world has to.
ok here's the english link, so i guess cuper doesn't konw if it is true ronaldo has left....i'm confused.

Well the general feeling is that he has had a falling out with the coach, although his agents have been talking about how the Spanish game is more in tune with his Brazilian style of playing.
There are also unsubstantiated rumors about a serious rift between him and his teamates and possible marriage problems, but this is probably pure speculation.

MADRID (Reuters) - Real Madrid has not been able to reach an agreement to file to the Brazilian Ronaldo, of the Inter of Milan, and has finished the negotiations with the Italian club.

"In the frank and warm maintained conversations this morning has been left of manifesto the impossibility to reach a satisfactory agreement, reason why both clubs give by finished the negotiation".

Well consider that Madrid doesn't need Ronaldo. Sure they would like the player but this was more of a move by Perez than any desire by the coaching staff. I'm sure they would've upped the ante if there was a real need or want by the coaches. As it is Madrid has more pressing needs than a striker.
Cuper has said this http://www.inter.it/it/news/10595.html
.... it's in italian but when the english one comes i will give you that
There should be an announcement by the end of this week. Ronaldo has said so and he is having another meeting with Inter officials.
He definitely wants out and he wasn't named in the squad. I can't see him staying.

Ronaldo already history for Inter fans
http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/0823/20020823ronaldofans.html
I'm just wondering what happened, since as I recall Ronaldo's been remarkably high on Inter until just recently, making all sortsof comments about how great and supportive the club and fans have been in the last 2 years. What could bring about such a dramatic 180?
