Hi,
I've been using the same version of XBMC for a long while, atleast one and a half year. Everything has been working perfectly until one recent day when I turned on the box, and to my supprise couldn't navigate thru the different sections in XBMC. Just like if the controller is broken, but it isn't. I thought teh XBMC version I was using was old and buggy, and updated to the most recent one, but same thing.
So I reverted back to my old EvoX dashboard, and THERE the controller works. But when starting XBMC, its the same thing all over again. If I press four buttons at the same time I reach the next sub-menu, and if I use the reset combo on the controller it also works. I've done nothing on the Xbox except watching movies and once in a while played some games. Haven't changed any config what so ever. Clock was very skew, cause of a network malconfiguration, so I changed to a proper SNTP server and its looking good now.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
I'm using the *very* old Executer2 chip.
you mite try replaceing your ports, or if its like a v1.1 or mabe 1.2 xbox there is a little board that the controller ports plug into then plugs into the main board, that mite be loose
I have a similarly odd situation myself, although less impacting. my dvd dongle kit wont work in any MS dashboard, but it works fine in XBMC so im a happy goat.
Horizontal Navigation Menus in Drupal Using CSS (Part Deux) | Nick :: I've tried nice-menu, but it doesn't work in the IE 5.2 for the Mac, and like I said, would be useful in restricting content access through navigation. http://www.nicklewis.org/horizontal-navigation-menus-in-drupal-using-css-part-deuxHOME | Check the centering of your thumbsticks.
Thanks for trying to help.
I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you mean by centering of the thumbsticks. I've looked for a calibrating option for the controller, but couldn't find one. The volume-slider works on the right thumbstick, but thats about it.
keymap.xml is installed, and does not look corrupt at all.
Well if anyone else gets this type of error in the future, then know that I was unable to fix mine.
I would suggest that you make sure that you have the keymap.xml file installed and that it is not corrupt. If you are using one of the newer builds it's in the user data folder.
I'll try that, but doesn't it seem strange that it just one day would fail to load that specific file? After all I've done no config changes at all.. Anyway thanks, will try.

anyone?! :(
After some research and lots of time testing with other controllers, this appeared to be a hardware error which I have yet not been able to fix. Since Xbmc is the only thing I am using my xbox for, I can still controll it thru my laptop, and that makes me a happy panda.
Check the centering of your thumbsticks.
