Odd problems with latest upgrade

Published by: webmaster 2009-01-08

  • When I started up my Windows 2000 today (26th), OutPost Firewall Pro told me that it was upgraded to 2.0.238.3121 (290).
Safari issue when loading via JavaScript | LongTail Video | Home ::
19 postsI'm experiencing a really odd problem with the latest player (any version, actually) when using Safari. Specifically, I'm creating a "slim" player,

Since then, every application I use to access the Internet shows up as having changed components, eg IE6 comes up with about 30 components, Agent mail and news reader, AdAware etc. Of course this is not the case.

Also, the ad-blocking component crashes when I paste in a new string.

Am I the only one seeing these problems?

  • Did yu then restart Outpost?
    Chris

  • The suggestion from hayc59 to delete Modules.ini/Modules.o had no effect for me

  • With the time change all of my components have changed too or telling of a possible change.

  • All over Western Europe the clocks HAVE indeed gone back 1 hour.

Why would that affect Oupost I wonder?
Roxio Community > Dell version of Cineplayer, odd problem::
5 posts - Last post: Dec 7, 2006The problem only manifests when the clock is set to the month of December. So simply change the date to another month and it will work.

I have checked my laptop and other PC, and all are showing the same behaviour.

  • Same problem here. I've even got a prompt from Outpost telling me "what's new" in its version, without having updated anything (automatic update disabled). I was a bit puzzled because I couldn't undertand how could Outpost update without my knowledge until I've spotted this thread.

Until now I had always thought that the clock change had some effect on people, but it looks like some software has also some problems adapting to this change! :D

  • I did restart Outpost, but did not re-boot

I am already on 2.0.238.3121 (290) and I can't find any info of a new release on the Agnitum site or here.
I got prompted today by Outpost to download a new version of pro, but decided not to (prefer to read what has been fixed first and check forums for any "interesting" posts).
SteveDaB, I believe this is all due to the change in time
continuim. I have also experienced the same thing and
    a componet phenonomum.
I suggest if anyone else is having the same problem with the
components gui pop-up, go into Outpost folder and find
these two files Modules.ini/Modules.o and delete them and restart
Outpost it will produce new ones and the problem should be resolved.
I have reported the problem to Agnitum..
    hope this helps

  • You are perhaps in the UK, and the clocks went back?

I had the same reaction - though I haven't noticed the adblock problem.

... As you see, I have Beta Tester status, and while not at liberty to discuss such issues, I'm now off to make a bug report - now I know it's not just MY system being obtuse!

  • i'm in the US and the clocks went back an hour also, but i haven't seen any changes in components.

however, i do have the same problem of outpost crashing when i try to add or paste a string in ad-block plugin, every single time without fail.

  • Was there a new release?
    No.;)
