1st. Thanks...
Scanned...nothing found.
But if i rename this progs, with wont start. Then after renaiming, the START NOW ??
Whats wrong with my System ?
Has outpost been working ok in the past?..and if so ..have you scanned for any virus or trojan activity that may shut the firewall down?
me
If i understand you correctly and your tauscan doesnt start either? ..then you most certainly have a virus or trojan.Type msconfig in start>run and check in startup what you have starting up.Do you see any suspicious files/apps? that you dont recognise?...usually pinting to system folders.
In my opinion tds3 is probably the best trojan scanner available , they have a 30 day trial ..though if you do have a trojan it may not let you in stall it if you use the default installation folder. If u can install it , then place it in a different folder to the default.

You could also try renaming outpost.exe to something.exe.It should still execute but maybe will "fool" certain trojans

im glad its sorted for you .TDS3 is in my opinion the best anti trojan there is,If however you don not wish to purchase then you may want to download regprot which is free from the same site.It uses very little reources and has a small footprint and it will monitor registry for any addition/or modifications in realtime. It has saved me more than once.
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=regprot
If you do install regprot..it will "baseline" al your current registry settings. The easiest eway to use reprot is to make a shortcut to C:RegProtRPADMIN.EXE on your desktop. That way you can stop it realt time scanning or stop it from starting with windows.Something that you may want to do if you are installing a programme otherwise you wil get lots of notifications of registry changes etc. Starting a co-op: I loan money for new co-ops:: I finance homes for small groups of people who want to start a housing co-op for co-op founders, because they don't have enough cash for a down payment, http://michaelbluejay.com/coop/loans/HOME |

p.s
I have been doing some reading up on beast and it appears to be a remote access trojan , so it is possible that your computer has been compromised in some way.If you use online banking or other such activities it may be advisable to change passwords and user names.
I would suggest a scan using Spybot Search & Destroy (http://security.kolla.de/). That your downloaded file disappeared after you ran it sounds very suspicious to me. It is fairly easy for any program you run to kill Outpost or other firewalls - after all, any program can be terminated by the user so the same applies to other programs. After running Spybot, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Outpost (using the link given above).
You may also wish to consider using an "application firewall" like System Safety Monitor (http://maxcomputing.narod.ru/ssme.html?lang=en) - this intercepts calls between programs and should provide better protection from trojans and other malware, even if you do mistakenly run them.
BTW: Would that be a Freenet keyspace graphic that you are using for your avatar?
Yes used msconfig....but nothing trange...disabled all...still the problem.

If i start windows in secured mode, OP and Tauscan etc. starts without renaming.
Master Tom do you remember what program you downloaded?
Did you download and run a Firewall Termination Program?
Also you can go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and Click on Scan Now and run their free on line virus scanner, it is called House Call.
Pandasoftware that bassbag suggested is also a good one to scan with I have used it several times to check my computer.
Also what antivirus program are you running.
Randy
Well....
I downloaed something...after executing the file and an error massage the file was gone...i thing he deleted himself. And i think since this rhe FW dont working...
I scanned whith a Virus scanner, but dont fount one.
Scanning now with tauscan...
Or what else can i do...
How can a trojaner "kill" outpost ?
Update:
Installed Tauscan...dont start too :)
Looking now for an other Prog...
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Outpost? Have you used msconfig (as per Bassbag's post) to check your startup programs for any suspicious entries?
Some more information here please Tom - what version of Outpost are you trying? What version of Windows are you using? Have you ever been able to get Outpost running? When you reinstalled, did you follow the instructions given in the Extended Outpost Uninstall/Reinstall Instructions (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7188) FAQ entry?
sorry master tom if im not understanding you correctly. Are you saying that if you rename outpost .exe then it starts up?..because if thats the case i would im agine that you do have a trojan or virus this is targeting outpost.exe and terminating it.Have you tried TDS3? or tried an online scan here...

Also type regedit in start>run and clcik + sign by hkey local machine>software>microsoft>windows>current version>then click all the "run"/"run services" folders in turn and post back what you have running in those folders.
