i go to speakeasy.net and run a speed test there(also tried on speedtest.net) and my download speed is normal. but my upload speed is at about 100kb/s(no way near normal) and most of the time i wont even get a upload result because it's so slow. I also called optimum about this problem and the guy had no clue what was wrong, he said i was not capped and everything should be working fine. He said that my internet speeds were normal(2000kb/s upload) but obviously not receiveing those results. he though it was a problem with my computer but i dont think it is. any suggestions or ways to fix this??
**also, i've been lagging on xbox live recently(uses mostly your upload) so this is another reason why i dont think my computer is the problem.
speakeasy is msotly way off with its numbers if you would tell me the download speed the expected speeds verses the ones they tell you you can get up to lol * so few really read that part you may recive speeds up to doses not mean you will get them. lot of upload speed has to do with type of file format of file , who and where you are sending it to from, the type of service you have, the time of day as high server bandwidth consumption will slow an upload to near nothing. aer you on dsl 3 m or 1.5 m or cable or??????? oh and one other item is called throtteling most of the low cost home dsl isp types throttle home users after a certain amt of data etc.. to get some real results go to link below and get your free simple home user friendly testing software that gives you a report explains it to you and gives you a full pic of the prob and solutions required!.
