Usually the display on your fax machine shows the number or the company name you are dialing, after you put the start key. I feel that's the only way you can make sure you are dialing right number. As far as I know there is no case your privacy comes out to someone else when you send it with fax. I've done that many times here in Japan in my whole life! Or do you imagine someone who is not in charge might see the copy? Then you can't tell it's safer online, more likely to happen when it's online.That's what I believe.
I haven't used this company, but it is not uncommon for credit card details to be sent via fax. Many businesses order via fax daily. Just verify that the fax number you are dialing does indeed go to the correct company, and that you input the right numbers into the keypad on the fax machine.
