Hi all,

I am new here and was wondering is there another way of installing the xbmc like via a 'live' cd or pulling the xbox drive out and installing xbmc and replacing the drive?

Like I said I am kinda new to modding consoles. I do not know if this is possible but would like to know if it is or an easier way than the other options (mod chip, Mech Assult, etc.

Just one last note, If this is not appropriate discussion on this fourm let me know where I can pose this question and if need be please delete this message.

Google "Xbox AID (Auto Installer Deluxe)" or "SID installer (Soft Mod Installer Deluxe)", ...though I highly recommend you install XBMC manually yourself so that you learn, otherwise you will have no clue what exactly it installed where and where you need to look to do updates, etc.

XBMC Live is for PCs ONLY. It will not work on your xbox.

Softmods (Mechwarrior, Splintercell) are fairly easy. Here is a good step-by-step: http://www.productwiki.com/microsoft-xbox/article/how-to-go-from-xbox-to-xbox-media-center-in-30-minutes.html & there are tons more on xbox-scene.com, as well as some really good tutorials on modchips.
