outlook performing suspiciously

I am concerned about the way my Outlook 2002 ( office XP) is performing, All windows and office patches, updates and service packs are installed. (Windows is 2000).

Yesterday on starting Outlook instead of reaching Outlook I got a pop up message saying that outlook.EXE contains macros would I like to enable them...
"NO!" cancelled that and restarted PC.
Outlook then started ok, but sent winmail.dat as attachement to a recipient of a text only email. Thought this strange but discovered it was a Lotus Notes user!

If you don’t use Pegasus Mail, but you “do” use Outlook, I believe when it shows the list of incoming emails that you can right click upon a suspicious

Today I sent a text email and rec'd a response which I can view through the two line auto preview but if I attempt to open the email or view through the preview pane all response email has vanished, all I can see is my initial email. A point maybe worth noting is that it alters the "from mr_Bloggs" header to "from mr _Bloggs ON BEHALF OF mr_Bloggs".

I m very suspicious of this. The extension appears to be jpg which is a standard NOT HAVE A PROGRAM ASSOCIATED PANEL WITH IT FOR PERFORMING THIS ACTION.

Can anyone shed any light upon this, do I have a problem with Outlook.

This all happened after opening a .mpe file and installing zone alarm

for starters, you could run a repair on outlook (under the help menu) You might need your original install cd.

which zone alarm are you using? pro w/email protection?
