i keep my system as up to date as i can, but i will check to make sure i have the latest components. as for reporting problems directly to agnitum - i dont want to start a flame war here, but i have serious problems with this idea. i have pointed out on this forum about 6 bugs so far in outpost v2, and we've had long threads in this forum discussing them. these are bugs agnitum should fix. they should start by reading this forum. i think its unreasonable to expect me and every one else to take responsibility for now emailing agnitum summaries of these threads. it also seems to me counterproductive from agnitum's standpoint - do they areally want floods of duplicate exmails from various people complaining about the same types of issues? there is a simple solution -> Upgrading T42 memory: buy how much and from where? - Topic Powered :: 18 posts - Last post: Dec 11, 2006Welcome to the world of the Firefox memory leak! Have you upgraded to the latest version Firefox 2 yet? You can get RAM from www.crucial.com http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/579009962631/m/411009142831/inc/-1HOME | Agnitum should take this forum seriously. they should take these bug reports seriously. they should task someone official to respond to problems posted here, check them, and FIX them. its that simple. for a commercial security product, its not that unreasonable. right now, we are living in a kind of shadow world. we report bugs, they dissapear into the ether, and we have to hope someone at agnitum eventually gets a whiff of them and deems them deserving of fixing. as i have said over and over, i really really appreciate the genius of outpost, but bugs in v1 were somewhat of a debacle, as they just never got fixed. its clear now, despite an excurtiatingly long beta test, that v2 has plenty of its own bugs (somewhat surprisingly, many of these are the same bugs in v1). that doesnt trouble me all that much. i'm waiting to see if these bugs get addressed by agnitum. if after a few more weeks there is no new updates, and we here about v3 coming soon, i will jump off the ship.
jamie3,
Do you have the latest MDAC & Jet Service pack installed? If you do and it is still leaking then you need to report the bug directly to Agnitum see the sticky thread in this forum for the link.
jamie3,
I understand your feelings about Agnitum and the forum and that is the way it used to be, but the forum was just taking far too much of their time and that is why they no longer monitor it on a daily basis. However when you submit a bug report via the bug submition page if you include a link to any relevant posts on the forum they will most likely be reviewed by the developers. The bug submition form that you use to communicate is similar to what we as beta testers use and it has worked very well so far. They review all the new tickets on a daily basis so all I can tell you is that is probably the fastest way to communicate your bugs to them it will also ensure that each bug gets addressed. Thanks for your kind words and rest assured we do not do what we do because of the pay or benefits. We do it because we enjoy helping other users. i wanted to add something: i appreciate the largely thankless jobs you mods and betatesters have done. assuming you don't get paid by agnitum (and maybe you should), this whole forum owes you all a great deal of thanks. the mods here have been courtious and regularly helpful. so i want to say thank you all for that.
