After many years of using BlackIce, ZoneAlarm Pro, and Norton, I am seriously considering moving to Outpost Pro because of its superior features and, in no small measure, because of the outstanding support offered in this forum. What I need to do very soon is to set up testing servers (probably both IIs and Apache) for web development. These will be strictly internal to my private network and should have zero contact with the internet. Are there any serious security issues involved in such a setup, and if there are, can Outpost Pro help in resolving those issues? I am a complete novice when it comes to server security, and am, therefore, even more paranoid than usual. One forum post that I read noted a compatibility issue with Apache in an earlier Outpost version. Does anyone know if that is still a problem? Thank you for your kind consideration.
Hi David,
Thank you very much. I'll download a copy of Pro and give it a try.

Hi jaspm,
I do not believe there should be an issue with Outpost and a Web Server like Apache. As long as a TCP inbound rule to LOCAL PORT 80 is allowed, the web server should work. You can even set remote hosts in the rules so that connections are only accepted from specific hosts.
Give it a try and let us know if you have any difficulties. :)
