| i can't seem to change my display format in xbmc. i have enabled pal 60 in the msdash & have enabled it also in xbmc, my problem is that i can't change the resolution from pal 4:3 to anything else, my tv is a 32" widescreen 100hz & the xbox is connected to the tv using the default phono/scart converter supplied with the console.
i would ideally like to have ntsc 16:9.
i have also wiped the settings from the saves dir & deleted the app & tried again, still not working.
bios: evolution m7 ef
dash: evolutionx 3935
xbmc: version 1 public release

i think you have to enable widescreen in msdash too.

yes, you do. go back into the microsoft dash's settings screen and enable all the hdtv modes that your tv supports. note that this has nothing to do with the "widescreen" or "letterbox" settings.
but before that, you have to buy the hdtv pack as thats the only way to get hdtv signals out of the xbox and without the hdtv pack you wont even be able to see the settings screen mentioned above.
to sum up:
1. get yourself the hdtv adapter.
2. set up the hdtv options in the ms dash
3. then and only then, experiment with xbmc in hdtv modes
