I need some statistics for recent years on charitable giving by United
States private foundations and/or individuals. I would like to know 1)
how many foundations/individuals donated in the following dollar
ranges; 2) how many individual grants were made in each range and 3)
what was the total value of grants each organization made in each
category:
$10,000 to $25,000
$25,001 to $50,000
$50,001 to $100,000
$100,000 to $500,000
$500,001 to $1,000,000

If possible, I'd like to know the overall numbers for charitable
giving in the US by individuals and foundations. At the macro level,
I'm not so interested in precisely who gave what, but the amounts in
which they gave. It would be nice to have category information as
well. I'm specifically interested the category of international aid
(i.e. not governments but individuals and foundations.) For this
particular category it would also be useful to have levels of giving
broken out by public vs. private foundation.
Hello -
Thanks for your question.
I have found overall numbers of giving, but not broken down in terms
of how much is given in various dollar ranges. Do you require dollar
ranges?

To clarify: I have dollar *amounts*, but not ranges.
That's no problem. You can lower the price to whatever you feel is fair.
I have discovered a $65 comprehensive document on the topic, and I
believe it probably makes the most sense for you to purchase this, as
it will give you a broad range of information on giving statistics.
It covers:
* Who Gave? How Much? To Whom?
* The Sources of Funding. Each source-Individuals, Corporations, and
Foundations-is profiled in its own chapter.
* The Recipients. Nine fields of giving are analyzed, illustrated and
discussed-Religion, Education, Foundations, Health, Human Services, the
Arts, Environment, Social Benefit, and International Affairs.
* An Overview of the Year's Giving Trends. The increases-and decreases-in giving
are shown by the recipient organization type and by the funding sources.
* Special Section on September 11, 2001
* Summaries of Events and Gifts that Affected Philanthropy in 2002
* The Key Factors that Affect Giving
* Four Decades of Giving Trends
* The Latest Research Findings
* 5 Million+ Gifts made by Individuals
* The Legal and Legislative Environment
* Summary Information about Studies Done about Giving in Various States, Regions
and Nations
* Sources of Philanthropic Giving

After you've lowered the price of the question, I can post a link to
purchase this document as an answer if you'd like. I'm open to
whatever you want to price the question at.
Thanks,
