Hello,
I was wondering how painful can it be to upgrade my server to PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x from 4.x version ?
What are the chances that all php scripts will break and should i change anything in vBulletin settings ?
vB should be fine.. but as U2Lynne stated be sure other scripts you use are okay with the updates.
I just did this upgrade a month ago. The vbulletin stuff was pretty painless. However, I do have a tracker hack on my site and we had to make a few changes to those scripts. But, all in all, it went pretty well. (Except that mysql keeps resetting itself, but I'm working on that problem.) SANS Institute - @RISK: The Consensus Security Vulnerability Alert:: of Tomcat and they have advised the developers to upgrade those systems PHP versions 4.x prior to 4.4.6 and versions 5.x prior to 5.2.1 are affected. http://www.sans.org/newsletters/risk/display.php?v=6&i=12&5038eb1125a109fb3c6b72b5fHOME |
