i had my 6 week check up and they checked my bp which was bit high so checked for protein which was fine, felt my tummy and asked how i was. arent they supposed to do more in depth check? i thought they would check my stitches as i had episiotomy as had forcep delivery and maybe check weight and advise of how to go forward??
yea, my doctor checked down there.. even tho i had no stitches or anything. he just checked to make sure everything was healing okay
Yeah typically they do a vaginal exam to make sure you healed ok. And my doctor even did a pap smear to test for bacteria. They also weighed me, took my vital signs, screened me for depression, talked about birth control methods, etc.
Sounds like your doctor isn't very thorough.
Here's a blurb about it I just found: Getting Fit after a C-Sect [Archive] - HeartLine Association Forums:: 15 posts - Last post: Mar 25, 2007I was told not to do anything untill after my post natal check. others are right - you shouldn't do anything until after your check up. http://www.heartline.org.uk/forums/archive/index.php?t-11393.htmlHOME |

i had a c-section, so they checked the scar to make surei t was healing correctly. my doctor also did a vagnial exam which i thought was weird since i didnt have a vaginal birth. i guess he did it because i was in labor for 20hrs. and dialated 2 1/2 cm. still thought that part of the check up was weird.
asked about birth control, and gave us the ok for sex.
thats about it
