- worried dad What can I do if I'm pregnant and don't have health insurance :: They have to help you, they can't turn down a pregnant woman. . This is a really great alternative if your pregnancy is low-risk. http://www.babycenter.com/400_what-can-i-do-if-im-pregnant-and-dont-have-health-insurance_500752_1000.bcHOME |
They usually don't rush her to be in the hospital for induction, unless life threatening. They will prolly give you a date and time to report to the hospital. At 36 weeks, shes likely to have about a 5 lb baby. Just a tad on the smaller side. Likely to come home within the normal time. 36 weeks is close enough to term that if you went into labor now, they would not try to stop it.
Relax, everything will be fine.
Being induced @ 36 weeks is not a bad thing, Some women give birth to perfectly healthy babies in their 24-26 week. By 36, lungs, heart, brain and basically everything else is pretty well developed.
Ultrasounds and pregnancy are just as common IMHO as a stethoscope when you go for a check up. They probably just want to see if everything is square in her belly.
Get that back packed and best of luck!
36 weeks is pretty far along. If she still has high blood pressure along with all the other symptoms you mentioned then she might have preclampsia. They probably won't induce that day, but you should definitely keep your hospital bag ready.
They do an ultrasound to check if the baby is okay and if there is enough amniotic fluid in the sac. I believe if you have preclampsia the amniotic fluid is low and your baby is probably not getting enough nutrients.
I had gestational hypertension so I went through all these tests too.
