Using Windows ME, MS OFFICE/2000. IE 6.00.2600; Outlook Express
6.00.2600. Symantec Works. Use MS continuous updating.
Suddenly printer errors occur with my Xerox WorkCentreXD100 printer --
a faithful workhorse. (Problem does not occur with second printer --
HP Deskjet.)
I have downloaded latest (but old) driver from Xerox xdeng3.exe with
no change.
ERROR MESSAGES: "spool32 has caused an error in spiglm9502.dll,"
"spool32 has caused an error in spiglm9501.dll" or "spool32 has caused
an error in Kernel32.dll".
When error occurs it will not print, and will not accept further print
commands. On reboot it displays something like: "XD100 has a job in
queue. Do you want it to print?" It will print successfully. But on
next print command an error message will occur.
I believe the only changes in software have been the automatic updates
from MS and from Symantec for Works.
Looking at properties on spiglm9502.dll indicates it is a printer
driver provided by Sharp, in 1998, I believe. I have searched MS
Knowledge Base without success.

I noticed that you mentioned Symantec in your question above. Do you
have Norton AntiVirus installed on your computer? If so, that could be
your problem.
If you take a look at

The site above mentions a Windows ME specific spool32 error which
could be the cause of your problem:
"Error: Spool32 has caused an invalid page fault in Kernel32.dll at
0167:bff7b9a6. After calling McAfee, the technician recommended
replacing spoolss.dll with version 4.90.3000. We have tried this fix
on 6 computers and have found that they no longer get the error
message. The file version he recommended is from the Win ME cd. From:
"Chris Roberts" in a message in a newsgroup.
I have seen an other message to the effect that replacing spoolss.dll
for a newer version did eliminate some spool32 problem. If you do not
have access to the .dll version file listed above try a version
subsequent to your present copy."
If the spoolss.dll file on your computer is different then the version
listed above, then replacing it with the version from your Win ME CD
might solve your problem.

One last thought before I post my answer. If possible I'd recommend
ditching Windows ME and replacing it with Windows XP or even Windows
98 SE. ME tends to have lots of incompatibilities with various
software programs as well as hardware products. I try and avoid it
like the plague!
