They use the same extension for a proprietary document format in their programs. I've updated the "Before you Buy" thread with some instructions on how to run the test script.
now broderbund is dealing with php... cool.. . my kids will be able to code and paint...

This is not a script that you run on your local PC. It needs to be uploaded to your webserver and run by accessing it like a webpage.
