I'd like a citation from a respectable publication (or preferably
multiple citations) that document the fact that cold stress creates a
predisposition for alcohol consumption in order to feel warm.
Note: I do NOT need documentation of the fact that this predisposition is
misguided -- that alcohol creates an illusion of warmth through
expansion of blood vessels and increases heat loss.
Rather, I am interested in citations that connect cold stress to the
(misguided) propensity to consume alcohol.
