Hi!
I currently own 2 licences both used for two different sites.
Can I use one of them in a test environment under a different domain (in a subfolder not visible to visitors) so that I can test some integration I would like with joomla and then proceed with the purchase of another licence before going live. Is this possible? Thank you :)
Thank you for the info Steve. I recently took over a VB installation, the other guy doesn't want todo it anymore, so I'll get the info from him, and apply for the access.
I also like to answer questions in the way that it makes sence to me. Assumining what someone else means can lead to problems :)
Yes, the license agreement allows you to set up a test board:
"If you have a valid license, you may set up an additional test forum in order to test code, template and database modifications. To make this clear to us and our license verification procedures, place it in a directory called 'testvb' and be sure to password protect it. It must not be accessible by the general public." I thought my post answered that.
To get vB support on these forums you first need to be a licensed customer and register for Priority Forum Support. To do this, please go here:
http://members.vbulletin.com/membersupport_priority.php
...and enter your email address in one of the boxes. You'll need to have your customer number and password to access the page.
I just want to see if I follow this:
If my main forum is on http://www.mydomain.com, and I want to make some majour changes to it, but don't want to run into, or display, any problems or errors on the live site (Which already has a few hundred members and a few thousand posts), then I can install vbullitin again, on a subdomain, http://testvb.mydomain.com, carry out my tests, template mods, etc, and then once happy update my live site with the tested code?
