British ex-pat hasn't seen good old EastEnders for years and years. So if your up to it, can you tell me what's been happening to the main characters since Cindy got put away to prison for shooting Ian?
I saw an episode when i was back for a visit this year and one of Ian's kids (all grown up now) was trying to smoother Pat with a pillow , i didn't get to see how that episode ended so what happened next?

ian married his nanny laura who was a bit of a frump and desperate for her own baby but ian had the snip. he started seeing janine (franks daughter) who by now is also grown up and a prostitute
cant remember if ian had a vesectomy reversal or what, but laura got pregnant. and then bobby was born. her and ian split when she found out about his visitis to janine.
laura died when she fell down the stairs after chasing janine down them
so now ian has 3 kids living with him (oh before laura he married mel , but that went **** up to)
recently peter came back from oz and tracked lucy down using the net and pretending to be her mum. ian intervened and was talking to 'cindy' and then went to meet her. only he ended up being trapped in a flat by peter.

anyways long story short, ian fogave him and let him move in,lucy then went missing and peter had given her somewhere to stay (in a caravan, she wanted to leave home due to teenagers hormones and rows with her dad) but he told ian he didnt know where she was so big man hunt followed, eventually pat worked out what was going on and tried to warn ian that peter was going to take lucy to france. but she got hit by a car on her way there.
thats how she ended up in hospital, peter knew she knew and tried to smother her but didnt succeed
he went to get lucy and ian caught up with them at the train station ready to get a train to france, but ian persuaded her to stay with him, peter had been telling lucy that know one was looking for her or asking about her and it was like she never existed but she soon relaised he was lying.

well she didnt die, she is still on the square poking her nose in everyones business! Dirty Den got killed by his wife his sons girlfriend who was preggers with his baby and Sam mitchell (yeah he had a son as well also called dennis) Dirty Dens son got together with Sharon (shes adopted so not really relatives) Then he got stabbed on new years eve. Peggy is marrying her dead husbands brother who is bad news, but Pat has sussed him out!! Bianca and ricky are back but that storylines just complicated Bianca has 4 kids all different Dads one of them isnt actually hers but she lives with her, they all live with Pat along with Biancas new Fiance who is a peodophile and has been abusing her not real daughter! Dot got Married to Carol Jacksons Dad. I cant really write anymore cos im supposed to be cooking luch!! hopefully someone else can fill you in some more
