Presentation Property [PowerPoint 2007 Developer Reference]:: Returns a Presentation object that represents the presentation in which the specified document window or slide show window was created. Read-only. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb230834.aspxHOME | Hi,
Is there any way that I can make power point slide read only for users, but if I have to make chages in there, then I can.
Like in excel you can set up a password to make correction, other wise you can open only as read only.
So is there any way that I can do with power point as well?
Thanks in advance!!
Hi tagger418 In your response:
Microsoft PowerPoint - 06.Garrett.ppt [Read-Only]:: Slide 1. Project. Wedgetail. AEW&C Software Metrics Program. Stuart Garrett Slide 2. Project. Wedgetail. Acknowledgment. Start PowerPoint, go to File -> Open, pick your PPS file, and you can open it and edit anything you like. A PPS file is completely editable, it simply automatically runs when the file name is double clicked in a listing of files. End users could do anything they wanted to it. Unless password protection was used along with the PPS in PowerPoint XP.
For PowerPoint XP: See this MS Knowledgebase article How do I make a PowerPoint slide read-only? :: Right click on the file, go to properties and check the read only box at the bottom of the properties window. and check the read only box at the bottom http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060630083102AARVrH2HOME |

Hi, amna.
Not very nicely--at least not unless you have PowerPoint XP (2002).
If you do NOT, check www.aladat.com for how to protect your presentation. It s the only resource that I know of. Perhaps others know of something different.
Welcome to the board!

Save the file as a Slide Show (*.pps) and send it to the users. This format is not editable but can easliy be saved over. You will need to make changes to the original Presentation (*.ppt) file then Click on File Save to save to the original PPT file, then save as and save over the PPS. You must make sure you save it in both the PPT and PPS format EACH time. If there is anything else I can do to help you please let me know.
