Roaming Profiles
Published by: admin 2008-11-23

  • Howdy All,

We are using OL97 with W95 & Novell but soon to upgrade to Win/Office XP (when capex permits).

Approx 300 of us use a large variety of PCs over the complex. This is a pain for Autosignatures. Currently autosignatures are stored on the local machine. What I believe we need is Roaming Profiles? The only help Ive managed to find is from the MSKB & it is for setting them up on NT networks. Can this be done over a Novell network?

    Regards
    Weasel

  • THE source for Outlook/Exchange stuff:

    www.slipstick.com

  • weasel: Have you been to EE?
Kind of a pain if you aren't already a member, and not QUITE free like here, but they do have some darn good Outlook experts, including an MS MVP:

    www.experts-exchange.com

Join, but do NOT pay for premiums services. Just ignore that page and click on one of the tabs to get outta there.

  • Thx Dreamboat,

Yes, Slipstick is one of my faves for all things OL. Unfortunately their info on this is the same KB article I found on MS.

GULP.....I may even have to remove my personality and attempt to communicate with the Network Admins. I know they will tell me it cant be done, they always do, then they'll invent some ridiculous reason why. I think they honestly believe that we end users only use PCs to either surf porn or play games. Well let me tell you, I use excel & word occasionally, aswell as that :)

    Regards
    Weasel

  • Dreamboat,

Sorry, my bad. Yes we use Exchange as the mailserver.

EE looks great, maybe I will have to bite the bullet and *pay some money* :scared:

    Thanks for the help
    Weasel

  • oh
    wait
so you DON'T HAVE EXCHANGE SERVER
is that what you're asking about?
    How to share without ES?

  • You shouldn't have to pay.
If you join normally, you should get 125 points.
That's enough to ask your question.
You'll earn (I think) 5 points per day after that.
