My computer is going down. Literally going down. I'm afraid to shut it down fearing it might not go up (it has happen and I wasted 5 hours putting it back up).
I think it's really time for me to format again and move to Windows XP, and once I find the right drivers for my scanner and camera I'll do the move.
Anyhow, my question is Can I run PHP, MySQL, Apache, IIS and all that on XP without any problems?
To be honest I have no idea how I got my current set up working. It's all patched up, god knows what's keeping it from falling down (and as you can see, it's coming close to that!).
My laptop is far too weak for WinXP, let alone IIS and everything else.
If you have any personal experience with this please share!

Only banana land is humid, the rest of Australia has completely different weather! :)
have no idea with WinXP.. but you could use www.nusphere.com package to install everything?

i'm learning about pc case cooling to try and bring down my Aopen HQ08' full tower casing's temperature to more suitable levels.. Xmas in Australia is pretty hot and humid :(

Seriously, I thought I had a lot of fans in my dual PIII-866 RAMBUS tower. I've only got 5 full times fans and 2 thermally controlled backups.
I have IIS, PHP and MySQL running on XP. I would definitely recommend IIS rather than Apache for WinXP systems.
Even though it sounded as loud, if not louder, than a vacuum cleaner when I was building her at home you can't hear it at all amongst all the other servers in the room where she's hosted (well not 100% true, I can recognise the whine of one of the high speed fans amongst the noise of the room). :)

Apache, PHP and MySQL are working perfect with XP.
Never tried IIS, though.
