Set as Home Page function

Hi,

I've been searching the web and there are functions out there to set as home page for IE, is it possible to do this for Netscape or any browser other than IE, and can anyone point me to the function if it is?

Hi ruth, there is no one script that will produce a compatible bookmark link for all browsers. While you may be able to cover IE and Netscape with a single script, what happens if someone visits your site using Opera or Firefox?

In my opinion, your best bet is simple text "Don't forget to bookmark us." and you've covered everyone. Also... most people that know how to bookmark a page with their primary browser, will use the browser itself to save a bookmark to your website, regardless of whether or not you give them a handy link to do so.

Using Databases Containing Non-English Symbols::
Your search function should be set up to find the proper information even if The UTF-8 coding is especially good for using as a web page "character set"

For those visitors that are still new to the internet and don't know how to add a bookmark... they probably wouldn't know how to actually get to that saved bookmarked either even if they did use your script/link to save it.

I could not agree more with christi......also if your site is good, ppl will bookmark it without you needing to remind them :) Best of luck with your site.

I have no clue if it's good. I just enjoy it. Some people are natural artists, natural creators and some of us have to really work at it, but we all kind of get our need to create satisfied even if our creation isn't anything out of this world :)

As to the question, it was more in the interest of finding out if it were possible and taking a look at the function. Things like that just interest me. For example, I found one that allows you to 'bookmark' from a link in NN6+ and FF, although it's not really a bookmark, but sort of. I couldn't find any equivalent for making a page a homepage in NN and wondered about it. I found a copy to clipboard for NN, also, and probably that would work in FF. I don't actually use them, I like to see them and read about how they were done. I think I have this curiosity gene that focuses on obscure probably never used by almost anyone things :)
