It depends upon where you get the tattoo and how sensitive your skin is. My first one on my back hurt a lot when I got it, and it bled like a bastard. And it also took a really long time to heal. Most of the rest of mine weren't that bad, although overall I do tend to bleed a lot and I don't heal very quickly. But I also have VERY sensitive skin. Everyone is different.
Considering it's technically a wound, yes. With my tattoos, the pain was mostly gone within a week, maybe just a little bit tender. If it was still painful and irritated after that I would have gone to the doctor. Just keep it clean and keep an eye on it. Might sting for a few days but that should be it
it may be a little sore to the touch for a day or so. but after that it should not hurt.
No it doesn't hurt. Keep the ointment and bandage on it, until you heal.
Mine is 12"x6" on my chest....
it might cuz i have 7 but it really depends on wat u got. it will scab up so make sure u dont pick at it, but sum of mine did itch but it didnt really cause no pain
Mine itched more than it hurt. I'd say unless it is a very large tat it shouldn't really HURT.. Go back to your tat guy and let them look at it just to be sure. Maybe it is infected... Good luck
well sometimes it hurt while healing because it is in a spot where it hurt really bad getting done
the tat is drying out to fast and your clothes my be rubing and making it hurt.
yes because of the needles being stuck in yoyr skin
mine never hurt, but ask your tattooist, but don't be happy with just his or her answer. Get a second opinion, if you have dark skin they could have damaged your skin by digging too hard. scarring on dark skin can cause keloids, not sure on the spelling of this word.
The area might be sore or tender, but it shouldn't be that bad overall. Often the area will start to itch while its healing, but if the pain is REALLY bad, something might not be right and you'll probably want to call your tattoo artist and ask.
It will definately be tender, and it can go past tender into being a bit painful depending on the area you got it. If it's quite a bit painful you need to call the artist and let him know, or have someone check it to ensure you didn't get an infection.
The tenderness should only last a few days, by the way.
Make sure you've been putting lotion on it, not touching it with dirty hands, not picking the scabbing off, and keeping it covered if at all possible.
EDIT: Oh itchiness ... yes that it definately is, lol. Do NOT scratch it. Tap or pat it, but don't scratch. That removes the scabs that are essential to proper healing and maintaining your design.
