I recently hatched out some Triops eggs that came 'premixed with detritus' but it seems that I have twice as many brine shrimp/fairy shrimp (sea monkeys) as actual Triops. If they're in there for 'live food', why on earth wouldn't the manufacturers advertise this? (Also they're currently twice as big as my triops and are ganging up on them D:)
Sometimes they tell you, (they SHOULD tell you)
It's no big deal, the triops will grow bigger than them in a day and eat them :)
Extra food.
Evidently, they are considered "detritus" and offer a clue on the difficulty of separating the two types of eggs in the preparation process. If the supplier was selling brine shrimp, the Triops eggs would be the "detritus".
I think the label should read "Detritus contains some sort of eggs". The label also tells you that the supplier doesn't know what else is in there.
Good luck.
