SMB Lock Preferences

Printing From Mac via Windows::

I've had my XBMC configure to stream ALL my media from my Ubuntu home server for years now and all of a sudden and for the first time ever I'm getting the "Lock preferences for smb:..." error where it asks me for the user/pass and eventually says "Could not connect to network server". The user/pass is correct and has never changed. My Windows machines connect to the shares on my Linux box just fine, it's just XBMC that's not working anymore. XBMC connects to a share on a Windows box just fine, but that's only my music share.

Any ideas why the lock preferences error pops up? how do I resolve it?

I just entered that guy in smb.conf (at the end of the Authentication section), rebooted machine, rebooted XBMC, tried the shares again and got the same error.

I'm not sure what that guy does specifically but I doubt has anything to do with the issue here, because I'm not using a guest account.

Any other ideas?

I have been using xbmc for some time now to stream video from my pc shares to my xbox. Only recently I started getting this stupid lock preferences deal and it's pissing me off. I also should add I updated xbmc a few weeks back. Maybe it's something with the newer version that i've installed. I do not compiled from svn, but rather grab a torrent for xbmc off of ********.
