Has anyone ever merged all of the emoticons for :: That's no problem. What I want to be able to do is send MSN buddies (and ideally , yahoo and AIM also) smiley faces like "batting eyes" from Yahoo, http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/515404.htmlHOME | Hi ya
Since I moved databases, I seem to have a smiley problem.
I copied the smilies to the new server with the same directory names etc, they show up in the smiley legend, but when I add them to the post, they don't show up (the standard ones do not the custom ones).
If I edit the post, and make no changes but submit it, they show up.
Any ideas?

**NOTE**
Just tried it again, and to get the previous smilie to appear (the problem one) you have to post another smilie, then the smilie that wasn't displayed IS displayed, but the new smilie isn't.

To find out about PHP, go to this URL:
http://www.yourhost.com/vbforum/admin/index.php?action=phpinfo
You will have to login, but that will give you loads of info about PHP.
John
PS - Yes :)
I am not sure exactly what the problem is becasue I cannot reproduce it. I think that you should check for spaces on the end of the smilie text, and similar things like that, which could mean that last smilie of a message will not be parsed if it is at the very end.
John
urm... isn't that a web host?
Did Mr John lure me into a webhost as advertisement?
Stay tuned ;)
Still can't see a log on section :/
--James
Yes I spotted that a smilie could not end the message, although that is not a problem here. I was wondering if some extra characters had been added to the end of the smilies in the control panel to cause it to look for a space, for example, at the end of the smilie.
Which version of PHP are you running?
John
Hi ya John,
OK, if you look at my site (I see you registered ;)). Do this...
Goto the Other forum
Click on New Post
Then type in anything randomly, and use some of the smilies like what I did on my post. Then post it.
View your post and you will see...
Wait.. think I found the possible problem. There has to be a carriage return at the end of the line or else it shows the text of the smilie and not the smilie image.
--James
http://www.yourdomainname.com/vbulletindirectory/admin/index.php?action=phpinfo
He is just giving you a "fill in your info" URL :)
John,
I will double check the smilies section in the control panel to make sure.
The webhost is running
mySQL 3.22.25 Database
Support For PERL 4, 5, 5.003 and 5.004, C++, TCL, And Python
PHP-mySQL & PHP-mSQL
If that helps... can't see what version of PHP I have installed, other than PHP3 (not sure on the exact version number)
--James
PS - will we be able to use custom page colours in forums in later builds?
