Not in the slightest. And, judging from Obama's record of charitable giving (1% of his income until he started running for president, then it became 5%), he wouldn't either. Not unless he was spending other people's money.

how about we just "spread the work around" and concentrate on making more jobs, hence not taxing out employers 50%

As it relates to Joe the Plumber, the difference of opinion concerns whether to charge a 36% or 39% tax rate on any amount that Joe personally earns in excess of $250,000.

Everyone agrees that Joe owes some tax on his income. They just disagree about what the rate should be.

I don't see how that 3% difference is the same as the difference between capitalism and communism. McCain and Obama both agree that we should have a progressive tax system, i.e., a system where the rich are taxed at higher rates on their last dollars of income than the poor. They disagree about HOW progressive the system should be.

If Obama is 100% communist, then McCain must be 97% communist.

It is communism.

Clinton campaigned in 1992 on a platform he called "Putting People First," which included government spending on job training and other programs to help middle-class Americans navigate the economy. Clinton wound up charting a centrist course in his two terms, and declared in 1996 that "the era of big government is over."

In other words, the only thing Obama's going to do is spread you wide and then thin. He's not going to be helping anyone but the Democratic party.

That is the differnce people dont see. Obama is big government where people who work hard for what they have earned instead of enjoying the fruits of thier labor you get taxed more and it is spread around. In my opion that is very anti American dream.

I don't mind those who NEED the help getting help so they can better themselves and get back on their feet. NEEDing the help Vs. 'simply wanting' the help are two very different things.

I'm not silly enough to think that hard working productive tax paying people don't fall on hard times from time to time. Again difference vs. those who want to sit on their butts and gouge the system.

Technically its Socialism and the US has been a blend of socialism and Capitalism Democracy for quite a while now. If you can explain how Social Security is not Socialism then you will have your answer.
