hey guys..
just grabbed the 4-1-05 version of xbmc. this thing works great. one problem i'm having is some divx files play fine, others play with no sound. i already grabbed the .rar file with all the codecs, and that didn't seem to fix the problem. i also played with my sound levels in the settings menu. any ideas? thanks guys. asteron,
thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. it turns out that it wasn't codec related at all. for anyone else that finds themselves with this problem, the solution can be found here: Compare Realplayer , Quicktime and Windows Media :: At one time, WMP6.4 would not play some later versions of windows media format. i figured it out.....start the movie...while it is playing press the y button which brings up a gui.. looking for the 20th Century fox intro:: 1990 video will be fine, so long as it has sound your present media player cannot play this file you can download a free divX player at the below site. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=141123HOME |
top right is playtime ...then bottom left has two bars...first one stop/play etc.. second bar is where the option is ...
second bar has four buttons...from left to right.....select the third one which brings up avdelay and audio channel...well for some odd reason the mplayer did not select the audio stream...and sometimes the mplayer selects only left channel nor does not want to stay on stereo...
it has to be a codec thing. there are a lot out there and so you probably cant really have 'all'. try playing it on the pc and figure out which codec it uses for the audio.
