why do spanish people do this '?how are u?' but do upsidedown speech i need this info for 15/10/08
With the upside-down question mark in Spanish shows you that a sentence is a question from the start.

I think it's quite a good idea because as soon as you start reading the sentence you know it's going to be a question, instead of realising it a few words in. If you're reading aloud, you know what your intonation should be.
