Marty stake wrote in your desired delay of 2008 http://new-york-ringtones.freehostia.com/86.phpHOME | Argh... this makes two flicks this week I had on my list to pick up that aren't coming out. First The Iron Giant, and now Star Trek: Generations SE.
Apparently the box listed the film's trailer as one of the extras, but it wasn't put on the disc. So the DVDs have been recalled and delayed. No doubt to fix the packaging on the box, not to add the trailer to the disc.
The list of desirable movies this week continues to shrink. :(
Why doesn't EVERY DVD have the film's trailer on it? I mean that's the most BASIC, rediculously easy thing to throw on there. The new release date is the 28th, which either means I have a couple of weeks to slough on this, or we'll have our review up way early. :)

I like having them.
They're like a time capsule, a window into the time when that movie was released.
They're really cool to watch on older movies, just to see how much people and things have changed.
For instance I really loved watching the Trailers on my Tron set... they make computers out to be these magical boxes waiting in the corner to destroy us all...
The trailer is a product of a time when people were leery of computers, its kind of a cool reflection.

thanks to the joy that is Wal-Mart, I got my copy of this today anyway. :)
Oh cool! I'm interested to read your review.
I think Generations has gotten better in my head over time, I might actually want it if the disc has anything good on it.

If it isn't supposed to have been released yet, why was Wal-Mart selling it?
Very confusing.
I saw a couple of other sites with reviews of it up but no one referenced the release date issue.

what....3 more to go until they start issuing 3 disc editions of every flick individually right? Bingo!
Wal-Mart is selling it because Wal-Mart sucks and doesn't pay attention to recalls. Their stupidity is my gain.
The delay was a last minute thing. DVD Answers put the new release date up today.
