Table of Contents from Tables

  • Hello

Found my way here from MrExcel.com since I have found something I have been unable to figure out for searching.

    So here goes

I have a Word document that has some tables. All tables are 2 columns by 1 row.

All the tables are being used so I can keep headings all nice across the page

    For Example: designates columns

Graph 1 Shipments By Top 10 Destinations September

I have for each table used Outlining Level 1 for each table.
Microsoft Office Online: Help and How-to: Create a table of contents::

What happens is that the 2nd column is returned on the next line, as follows

    Graph 1 Shipments By Top 10 Destinations...........3
    September......................................... ............3

What I am trying to do however is to have the TOC ignore column 2 so my TOC would look more like

    Graph 1 Shipments By Top 10 Destinations........3

Thanks in advance for any help. I am very knew to TOC's and just picked what I know from MS help files.

    Thanks
    Mark

Many thanks for your time :)

  • Change the September heading to something besides Outline level 1.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply

If I do that, both lines just indent further

    Any other thoughts
