Hello, I am hoping someone can kindly help me with this issue I have.
I am just getting familiar with table of contents, so I have this problems:
I will put an example of the issue I am having, I start typing my table of contents, for example:
Nintendo
Mario Bros
Zelda
Nintendo is my main heading, mario bros and zelda my sub-headings, so I go to Format>Styles and formatting, and make the word Nintendo a Heading 1, Mario Bros a Heading 2, Zelda a Heading 2
I then place my cursos on the first line (where the word nintendo is) and create my Table of Contents, I get a table of contents created above the words I first typed:
Nintendo.......................................... .............1 EBN -- Table of Contents (January 1 2009, 12 [1]):: Receive tables of contents (and more) by e-mail each issue: Subscribe to Customised @lerts [Search ALL Issues] Table of Contents (PDF) | Front Matter (PDF) http://ebn.bmj.com/current.dtlHOME | Cancer Research -- Table of Contents (August 15 2008, 68 [16]):: Other Issues: Contents: August 15 2008, Volume 68, Issue 16 Find articles in this issue containing these words: [Search ALL Issues] Table of Contents (PDF) http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/vol68/issue16HOME |
Mario Bros.............................................. .......2
Zelda............................................. ..............3
Nintendo <-Need to delete
Mario Bros <-Need to delete
Zelda <-Need to delete
check the words where i placed an arrow saying: need to delete, why? because a TOC is already created above, I dont need those words anymore there.
Now the problem is, when I delete those words, I get an error in the table of contents, can someone advice? In every tutorial I check online, none of it says it will all result this way.
Can someone please advice, this is desperating
Sorry, I already understood the idea of "automatic table of contents" ;) no need to reply this thread
