Tattoo my foot? - I want my first tattoo to be on my foot. Any advice? - hzgn.com

i desperately want a tattoo on the outside of my foot. im thinking about getting my daughter's name there.

1. how bad does it hurt? i heard that the foot is one of the most painful places for a tattoo.
2. will it fade a lot there?
3. do you know of any sites that have some font samples that i could look at to decide what font i like?

Bones have nothing to do with the pain that you feel from a tattoo. The needle doesn't even come close to a bone, ever! What matters is the nerve placement and concentration. Certain parts of your body have more sensory nerves than others. In my opinion I think that the rib cage was that most painful for me, however I have not had a foot tattoo (but I want one). It depends on you tolerance of pain how much it will hurt. Tattoos will have a long life if you follow that aftercare sheet and keep them out of the sun or prolonged periods.

It hurts, its actually one part of the body that hurts a lot when tattooed since its close to the bone, not much tissue to cushion the skin.

well of course it will hurt much more because your foots boney, i suggest if you get it, get it small and to teh lower of your foot, so you can cover it up if you need to. i dont knw if it will fade, tthats a question for a tattoist, and just google tattoos, and styles to get an idea, but it would be best to actually go in and c what tehy have, becasue tehy always have pics,

My first tattoo was (or is) on my foot. that sitting two hours through my tattoo was worth it. Ive had my foot tattoo for over a year and a half now.

1. I got the top of my foot tattooed last august and it hurt sooooooooooooo bad. well, bits of it were ok but yeah - major ouchie.
2. the more exposure to sunlight (esp. in the first year) the more likely the tattoo will fade. and also the guy that did my foot said that the closer the tattoo got to the bottom of my foot (like the pad) the more likely it is to fade there because i think the skin sheds a lot there or its thicker and dryer or something - so he went over it more (which hurt even more)
3. if you go to a good tattoo artist they should be able to recreate any font you bring in so if youre having a hard time finding "tattoo fonts" on google or whatever just trying looking up actual fonts or scrips or even just go into word and see if there is anything there that catches your eye
