as we approach the 2.0 release, there is a concerted effort to resolve outstanding bug reports on the sourceforge bug tracker. there are a variety of bugs there that are missing some details so we are unable to confirm the issue is fixed or to debug the issue in more detail. *we do not want to unilaterally close issues just because some information is missing when a specific configuration or media type may be the underlying cause to a real bug.

Maybe too late but never too late to say that even with the 13/11/06 T3ch still I experience [ 1454415 ] philipps dvd drive not recognized at system-info
since I had already reported all information possible on SF.
Bios on X3CL is able to recognise drive.

what about the subtitles staying enabled during dvd playback? i would think that would also be a priority. i know it's only a problem with "no menu" rips with only a single subtitle, but a lot of us rip our movies exactly that way and the bug is quite annoying! i would think this should be resolved before you declare a 2.0 release. after all, there's also the poor ffw and rw to fix post 2.0 so i wouldn't think we'd go into 2.0 with yet another dvd bug.

i believe this is because the evox m8 corrupts some parts of kernel space, either the in-memory copy of the eeprom, or, more likely, some parts used for injecting trainers. since this memory isn't vanilla, i'll inject the vanilla code there and restart xbmc to disable the "trainer"...
the above list is the stuff we need help with from users.
as we already know what the issue you are describing is, we don't need help from users with that - we need to fix it first before we can ask for users to verify the fix.

i have added some information to this bug on sourceforge. it appears that it is greatly exacerbated when a http proxy is used between the client browser and xbmc.
i am able to provide analysis of http protocol traffic between the two, and i can also provide any related http proxy traffic/logs as well (i run my own proxy server (squid) on my local network), if this will help.
the workaround for this bug appears to simply bypass proxies for your xbox, but this might not be viable in all situations.
cmon folks, weve only closed one so far from the list and that was due to one of our developers.
open source relies on the support of the community. think of how much you gain from using this software, which is provided for free. what better way to show your respect and thanks to the developers than providing properly formatted bug reports for issues you identify, as well as helping contribute relevant details to existing bug reports.
if anything is uncertain i would be happy to respond to questions in this thread.

background: i`m running a build from 1st june 2006 (compiled by myself)
start a song first, then launch this script. then you can
end it at any time, wait some time and then try to launch
a new song. xbmc should lock up. it will also lock up
when the song ends i believe.
i did as the instructions at sf and got no lock up with launching a new song. *
i then waited for it to finish and there was no lock up either.
i assume you won`t need the debug log file, but have kept a copy if needed just let me know.

xbmc as dashboard using shortcut method
when using the right and left triggers, back and black
for igr the xbox reboots loads the splash screen then reboots again to the splah screen and then continues on normally.
doesn`t happen if using xbmc as an app and launched through the evox dash.
i don`t know if you want a debug log or any other info if you do just ask.
