in my movie folder i have a seperate folder for every movie:
moviefolder/moviename/-moviename.avi
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *-moviename.srt
now if i scan my moviefolder. i don't get an icon on the folder(moviename). i get an icon on the file in the folder. is there a setting or something i must enable so it gives the thumb to the folder and not only to the avi? when i get imdb info file per file it does give an icon to the folder.
thanks

indeed but that would take away the advantage of the scan function in combination with the nfo in the dirs.
i just want the folders to have an icon, and to have good results i want xbmc to use the nfo file.
else i have to scan each file everytime i update xbmc.

only if you delete the info.
the scan needs a rethink, i agree. the problem is that everyone has different ideas of how to "best" layout their filestructure. what works for you may not work for the next person.

there is no setting. the automated scan just works a little differently than manual imdb lookup.

okay, i understand, and i appriciate all the hard work you guys put in this. :bowdown: *maybe there could be a imdb configuration screen where one can specify his filestructure layout.
personally i can only think of two situations (please correct me if im wrong):
1. if the user has no subs->movie files without subdir in moviefolder
2. user does use subs->movie files in individual folders with their subs
but the strange thing is that scanning a folder doesn't have the same effect as looking up imdb info for every file individually. if you could give both the same effect you could use a imdb configuration screen as suggested above.
anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this.
so i must scan each file individualy for getting thumbs on the folders?
also i have found out that scan does not use the nfo inside the folder with the imdb url.
