Rangers News:
Here's our game in hand, folks. We've got to take advantage of this one. Just six matches left after tomorrow and Rangers are holding onto automatic promotion by just goal difference at the moment.
Richard Johnson is out (and may be for a bit) after picking up an injury last weekend, but Marc Bircham's suspension has ended and his knee seems to have recovered enough to allow a return to the lineup, making a Bircham/Bean paring in the middle likely. Good timing in Bircham's return. We've got to keep two of those three healthy at all times, or it'll be Palmer back in the starting lineup, I'd guess.
Of note, while Padula won't be back on Tuesday, he's a possibility for the weekend.
The Opponent:
In mid-table, Tranmere would crawl within six points of the final playoff spot with a victory. It's not likely, but they're still probably holding out hope of a run. They've won three straight (Bristol City and Notts County at home plus Wrexham away), so they should be feeling pretty good about themselves. Those three wins followed a stretch of 8 matches without a win (0W-3D-5L). They haven't given up a goal in their last four matches (since a 1-2 loss to Millwall in the FA Cup).
The First Meeting:
1-1 at Loftus Road on 25 October. Tranmere scored in the 4th minute but Gallen's 47th equalizer gave the R's plenty of time to take all three points, but they couldn't break through.
The Series:
Rangers lead 11-6-6.
The Referee:
Paul Robinson gets the assignment. He's worked 26 matches, issuing 72 yellows and 7 reds, this season. His last QPR match was a 2-2 home draw against Mansfield Town last season in which he issued 8 yellows and 1 red! Furlong, Langley, and Padula saw yellow for Rangers, while five Mansfield players went into the book, including a 34th minute ejection.
We're underway in the second half. No changes as yet.
64th minute -- Bircham exits in favor of Palmer. No idea if Birch's knee is acting up.
C'mon you Rs!
Looks like we just let one heckuva chance go by:
70:50 Shot by Paul Furlong(QPR) right-footed from left side of penalty area (18 yards), save (parried) by John Achterberg(Tranmere). Shot by Paul Furlong(QPR) right-footed from centre of penalty area (18 yards), blocked by Graham Allen(Tranmere). Shot by Gareth Ainsworth(QPR) right-footed from centre of penalty area (18 yards), clearance by Graham Allen(Tranmere). Outswinging corner from right by-line taken right-footed by Martin Rowlands(QPR) to far post, foul by Steve Palmer(QPR) on Ian Sharps(Tranmere). Free kick taken right-footed by John Achterberg(Tranmere) from own half, resulting in open play. 红魔曼联• 中文球迷论坛- Powered by Discuz! Board:: R: I. "Come on, you R's!" is right! ;)
Rangers still getting more possession, now behind 44-56. 75th minute, still 0:0.
Don't know if this is accurate, as we're still 25 minutes from kickoff, but the Match Console on QPR World has lineups listed and they include a surprise -- Gareth Ainsworth.
Here's what they're showing at the moment as our XI:
Camp; Bignot, Carlisle, Gnohere, Edghill; Rowlands, Bircham, Bean, Ainsworth; Furlong, Gallen.
...and as our bench: Day, Cureton, Thorpe, Palmer, Rose.
That would leave McLeod without even a place on the bench.
Marcus Bignot was booked in the 33rd minute. Possession percentage creeping up (63/37).
Luton is now 2-1 up away at Hartlepool.
I'll take a point on the road. A win is always nice but a point it will have to be. Thanks for the play by play, I thought I would be in today but spent the morning and most of the afternoon out on the road so wasnt able to take advantage of it.
The official site has verified three changes from Saturday.
Johnson out injured, while McLeod and Rose are left out by manager's decision, with McLeod being left off the bench. Ainsworth, Edghill, and Bircham start in their places.
Starters and subs are as in the last post.

HOLY COW!
In the 79th minute, Marcus Bignot is booked a second time, so gets a red, for a foul in the box. Arthur Gnohere gets a yellow for dissent. And...
Tranmere misses the penalty!
Matthew Rose comes in for Rowlands in the 82nd minute. A second Tranmere player has picked up a yellow.
Still 0:0.
And we're underway. If anyone's around that needs updates (doolittledog2?), I'll try to update more often.
Tranmere 0:0 QPR
FINAL
Not what we'd hoped, but still puts ahead of Bristol City on points.

2. QPR -- 40 GP, +31, 72 points
------
3. Bristol City -- 40 GP, +19, 71 points
4. Brighton -- 40 GP, +19, 66 points
Kevin Gallen was booked in the 24th minute. Rangers have gained a bit more possession (stat is now 66/34). Ainsworth sent in a cross that the keeper caught a couple of minutes ago. Rangers have committed 8 fouls to Tranmere's 1.
20+ minutes in. So far each team has 3 shots, 1 on goal. Match console shows Tranmere with huge lead in possession (72/28). Tranmere's Dadi picked up a yellow for dissent in the 17th minute.
In the only other D2 game, it's Hartlepool 1:1 Luton.
Thus far in the second half Rangers have had four shots, two on target (to two shots, none on target for Tranmere). Richard Edghill went in the book in the 60th minute. One 60th minute sub for Tranmere; no changes for Rangers.
63rd minute

Things are wild over in Hartlepool. It's now 3:3.
