i have xbmc installed and running fine on my xecuter2-modded xbox. however, some discs that i put in the drive are not accessible by xbmc. when i go into my videos, the dvd drive continually shows as "busy" when one of these discs are in the drive.
i suspect it is a media issue between these discs (verbatim 16x dvd+rs) and the sanyo sdg-605b dvd-rom drive in my xbox. i managed to locate a more recent firmware for that model drive. however, i do not know how to install it, since all that was included in the download was a .bin file. can anybody tell me what to do with that file?

also, if updating the firmware does not solve the problem, is it possible to replace the xbox's dvd-rom drive with a more recent model? if so, does anyone have the url of a guide that tells you how to do that?
