OK got the new V2 But in gaming online it seems to be very laggy no me when connected now and others notice and let me know.
I removed it and all was fine. reinstalled laggy again anybody else notice this.
Oh man HayC, you're giving away my antitheft secret. Ok, now that my cover is blown, besides cooling with liquid nitrogen I also keep a flask of glycerin in the box It is wired so that if someone especially a gov't agency were to take my computer booting it up without my 15 character password the flask will break rendering my data unreadable. (at least for the thief and his cohorts.

But mine will go to -70 which is better in my book. I use special antifreeze for medical. And it's sits just below just like the prome.
Im just burning it in now at 3.0 but im sure it will go further soon.
Ya it runs nice and fast with any Vcard I have the 9800 pro in one and the 5800U in the other.
mjc,
Sorry I do not do any online gaming, but I suspect that logging may be to blame. There is something you can try to see if it improves performance while you are gaming. Before attemting this you will first need to Shutdown & Exit Outpost. After you have done that go to your Outpost Firewall directory and there will be a file named op_data.dll if you rename the file it will disable logging. I suggest something like op_data.dll_ that way you can remember what the original name is supposed to be if you ever need to re-enable logging for any reason. Please let us know if this resolves your issue.
mjc,
I'm back on v2 now and you will find the do-not-resolve option here ---> ViewAdvancedResolve = Never.
Irth Online ComeBack [Archive] - Onrpg Free MMORPG Forums:: 100+ posts - Last post: Nov 27, 2007The update is ridiculous, was anybody else's huge and slow? . just played the game, seems "ok" but has TOO MANY graphical bugs (you can http://www.onrpg.com/boards/sitemap/t-72676.htmlHOME | NF7-S 1Gig Twinmos 3500 here and A7N8X 1 Gig Twinmos 3200 both have 3000+. Both on custom made chillers. -40 degree all the time fully insulated. So i don't have any worries.
I boot to 4 Maxtor 120 SATA just got from over sea's they are fast.
Both use XaserIII cases with custom wiring that can't be seen for the most part.
Though I like the NF7-S the most it's much more stable all around.
Sorry could not find that in options anywhere, I will look again later after church.
Thanks for your input I run a very fast system and a SATA RAID setup so it's not that. If you read what I wrote it was fine when I removed Outpost or disabled it.
And if you read my last post I stated is is fine now since I disabled my port watcher software. When the two software is running at the same time (Outpost and portwatcher software) I get the lag. Codemasters forum - Steering lag.:: 8 posts - Last post: Feb 20, 2008Can play ok, but the framerate I guess is around 10 FPS. does anybody has an idea, how to fix it? its impossible to use a gamepad. there http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260610HOME |
All is fine now. Thanks you
Disable logging per MegaHertz and/or:
Check the option to, 'DO NOT Resolve IP addresses.' Sorry, I do not have v2 handy at the moment, but it is under 'option' somewhere.

In that case, I think that Megahertz advice is applicable to you. Because Outpost does not set a limit on the log file size, it starts to eat up resources - which will probably cause your game to slow down.
Try disabling the logging as suggested and, if that doesn't work, let us know...

You know, I was thinking that the lack of a video cooler was a limitation. I thought Matrox was going to produce several different versions of the Parhelia, up to and including some REAL monster cards? You don't want much, do you??? :D
No my pings are the same not bad it's noticeably laggy to me it causes games to stutter and others online notice it as soon as I log on. Strange
It's not laggy if I shut it down and turn off services which belong to Outpost. In other word nothing in outpost is running. I shut it down and all lag is gone. I will try to disable logging tonight. I have noticed it with Jedi Knight, UT2003,UT, CS though I don't play that game much.
I will try Q3 as well. I have so many games I will try a few more.
.
Done all that but I look for long term as well so I built this.

OK I did some playing around late last night and I now think the probem is here, when I run Outpost and port tools for my router I get the lag. If I didable my port tools while Outpost is running most of the time it's fine.
Somehow together they clash I guess.
My ISP is having a DNS issue as well because I am having page load time problem which I know is not related but can slow things down a bit.
Im going to wait till this clears up before I go and change anything.

I'm glad you're okay. Let me guess, nForce2 MOBO? I considered setting up a SATA RAID on my A7N8X-d, but opted to to upgrade to a barton 2800, a full gig of Mushkin level II, replaced all my ribbons with copper sheilded round cables and put two TT Smart fan IIs in for exhaust. Does your SATA RAID work much faster? Do you boot from it?
It's either two 120 SATA drives for Christmas, a water cooling kit or a huge case for me. ;)

I've played 2k3 extensively since installing v2 and haven't noticed any lag so far. If fact, when I enabled SPI, it seemed to get better. Did you remove all traces of you past FW? How fast is your machine and what type of connection do you use?

I haven't noticed any lag during gaming. Are you saying your ping is reported higher, or just that other people tell you that you are lagging? What game? I mostly play Q3 online.
Does just shutting down Outpost eliminate the problem, or do you actually have to uninstall it?
I'm curious because my favorite server moved at the same time Outpost was released, and now my ping is higher on that server. Other servers seem to be the same as before though, but I don't game on them as much.
