Hi all.
I used subj for several years in its BIM form (which atomat. add required prefixes to to url, if url is entered witout http:// prefix in address field of IExplorer). It is rules, except it insert banners in every page it process :(.
But, all theese years I used AtGuard Ad-blocking ability to block downloading script from webwarper.net (it is that script, that insert ads). And all was fine... well fine, but not fine enough, 'caus AtGuard's firewall was long ago compromised.
I turn to ZoneAlarm... Barby's toy, it was. Then I turn to your Outpost (perfect at first look, it was :). But! I found no way to block hatefull script!
So the question is: How can I block HTTP resource given its complete url? I need to block http://webwarper.net/ww/~WWServiceScriptGZ~GZ/wwserv.js.
I tried to use outpost's adblocking... it only look for IMG SRC - bad. Then I tried content-blocking... at no effect :(
Terrable thing is that Outpost somehow prevents AtGuard adblocking. (I understand how and why... but it isnt right).

Hi, thanks for attention.
I think you not familar with what webwarper is and what it does (?).
HTTP prot has special content type - gzip (or something), it is when content is gzip'ed on web server and un zipped in explorer (IE can handle gzip streams for sure).
Webwarper works as follow: In address bar I type request to its server, this request contains url to where i want to go, for ex:
http://webwarper.net/ww/~GZ/www.ixbt.com?*
Then, webwarper server downloads page from www.ixbt.com, gzip's it and reply packed page (gz content type) to me. Thus I save in my trafic (because gzipped HTML is always smaller than plain HTML).
But nothing is free. Webwarper insert banners to pages it compress. This banners are actually inserted by special script at client's (my) host. If prevent downloading this script for webwarper no banners will be inserted.
I'm afraid, that outpost is unable to deal with banners in gzip'ed http-stream because it analize HTML and change its IMG SRC tags. And whan HTML is packed outpost will unable to change them. Am I right?
Btw, AtGuard blocks ads by url requests, not by modifying html content. Thus it works fine with webwarper. It must be mentioned, that now only webwarper use gzip-content type, some other servers also does. Error Occured:: HTTP Error. Cannot load the page at the address. http://56_0.cn2v.com/ Cannot find server 56_0.cn2v.com http://www.webwarper.net/ww/56_0.cn2v.comHOME | Error Occured:: HTTP Error. Cannot load the page at the address. http://jmfip.com/ Cannot find server jmfip.com http://www.webwarper.net/ww/jmfip.comHOME |
I, actually, see no workaround this problem... If I had more information on writing plug-ins... Source code of HTTP Log, for ex. :))... It will be posible to write plugin, that deny url request (as AtGuard does). But OutpostDDK (and DDK, as well) are poorly documented (because it contain no examples or source code of working plug-ins).
2root: Blockpost is not an option here, 'cause all pages I browse is originated from webwarper.net, thus if I block this site I will not see anything... It is not I may want to :)
Hi Frostbitten. I guess the best thing for you to do is to go to the plugins forum and download Dmuts Blockpost plugin. You can put whatever web sites you want to block in there.

Frostbitten,
I think there is now a new SDK out, and I'm sure even the old SDK came with to sample plugins source code.
You should speak to dmut or muchod as they have most experience with using SDK and writing third party plugins.
Hi Frostbitten,
It must be in your settings. I just tried to go there (with and without the "http://" and it was completely blocked.
Hang in there.
Chris
hmm... I'm sure I've seen in some other post Mikhail saying that Outpost's plugin filtering doesn't currently work with gzipped content.
