Thanks in advance.
I have mentioned this a couple of times to admin so all I can say is, he must have not read it or did not want to use it.
Goodbye.
Sorry, I couldn't wait any longer. I have downloaded Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express and I'll be using it for my web site development from now on. Well - does it insert a lot of MS stuff in the HTML code like Frontpage?

A lot of us have been using First Page 2000 since its release, are still using it, and are prepared to wait for the final First Page 2006 release. Give Admin a chance... as no doubt he is trying his best to ensure that all bugs are fixed before releasing the new version.
And for the record... AceHTML has it's problems too, with lack of support and the fact that you must pay for the product if you want the PRO version. If you do pay... you are still subject to the lack of support. The program still has bugs and problems, even in the latest version 6.05.08.
Personally speaking... I would rather wait for the bug fixed First Page 2006, than pay for a product with still suffers from bugs and issues long after its initial release. myLot - what happens after death .any Idea???:: what happens after death .any Idea??? You can PM admin to find out, not sure tin60, which is a good question. Perhaps there are tons reported and instead of getting the same ones over and over, perhaps they want to correct one reported first and go from there. Not sure, cuz I have not heard anything either.
Its MS which would have to make me wonder a bit ...I tried an earlier version and for the life of me cannot understand their reason for it. They have frontpage so why give an express version away and not work on selling frontpage more.
I used to use Frontpage long ago and got tired of their frontpage extensions etc. I saved up and now only use Dreamweaver with a few other appz. I still have Firstpage loaded, but really it all comes down to what one wants to do and what they want to use.
Good luck with your new editor Patrick Keogh
New here aren't you? Not to sound negative but the track record around here speaks for itself.
I have to agree with this.
And in relation to AceHTML having its own problems, it's very true. But at least they update the program regularly. I know admin is busy, but what if the program finally comes out in final version and has bugs? How long are we going to have to wait for a bug-fix update? My guess is a long time...
Think it creates a poor impression to let the beta lapse and leave people with no workable version. There were certainly many severe bugs in the first beta, surely though we deserve some info back on what comes next.

No, not new here.
Before, when we had no product, the negativity was pretty complete. Now the beta has come out there was a chance to recover the support, that chance seems to have been missed. There were obviously some pretty massive problems with the beta which should lead to a new version. That this version was not forthcoming is very sad, that the beta simply expired is disgraceful.
:shoot: December 6th! So where is the new BETA Version?
Is there going to be another beta release or will the new 1st Page going to be released.
Thanks in advance.
um, Dec.2nd?
sorry folks, I'm excited about the release too!!!

I can only imagine admin is working on the bugs reported and thus only estimate that it will be ready only when the reported bugs are done. Just a guess is all...
Here's hoping for a quick fix :)
Besides that, admin has not official stated so, and until he does, ppl should not assume. :)
As for the next release, there are lots of bugs I'm sure he is working on. That all takes a bit of time and we only have to wait to see the next beta stage.
But one thing I don't understand - why isn't it able to use - and test - the last beta any more? Why this beta runs only a short time and testers are not search for other bugs?
I wanted to join the beta testing - but I can't run this beta - it has expired....

An update should be out within a couple of weeks.
For the record, Admin has not even hinted on making a free vs pro version. Many members have stated if Admin needed some cash to make one and ppl could by it for a value price. Just to keep going and support etc.

I wish that there was some sort of update posted. Some sort of estimate as to when the program will be ready. I'm about ready to go look for another program to buy and I don't want to.
Keep in mind that it looks like FP2006 is going to have a free version and a pro version as well. This hasn't been said outright, but all of the signs are there.
If that is so, I will probably use the free version just long enough to ensure I am as comfortable with it as the original and then I will buy it. I've used 1st Page 2K long enough to know it's worth while supporting.
IMHO.....
In the end... people will drool over whatever they can get from First Page which happens to work halfway more decent then other applications out there. Sadly though... the cost leaves a very sour and bitter taste! In the mean time I'll be chugging along on 1stpage2000 until I can get the new one. And for that alone is probably why admin does not say a thing or waste time saying anything, because along the way.. there is always a chance something creeps up and causes delays. But I do believe a version should be mandated and pushed out... and then just throw updates out... this will apease the masses more than clamming up and not saying a word.

Thank you Admin, for the update :)

No, it doesn't put anything in. It isn't WYSIWYG. I can import pages I developed in FirstPage, and then save them from Visual Studio and source code is exactly the same.

I try to avoid MS products, they do not bode well to me. I mainly use Notepad2/Notepad++ when in Windows, or KEdit or KDevelop when in Slackware.
I think 1st Page is good mainly for novices, the only thing I miss is the preview tab. But the WYSIWYG and code views help new coders to understand it, so I would not call 1st page done now just because of a few weeks wait :P.
Great news :) thank you for the update, looking forward to the download.

*bows* Thank you very much.

I am/was beta tester for a lot of software (and hardware) - never saw this before that a beta expires without the next one comes out - or if the new one is late - testers can continue to use the old one...
And Admin seems not to answer emails...
Very strange - this gives not very much motivation for testers, IMHO.

I was kind of wondering that my self :jumpy:

Ok yes - but perhaps the developers could use Bugzilla - so every beta-tester can report bugs there and can see if a bug is already reported - lot of projects are using this tool.
