When I check in for prostate surgery what can I expect to happen before I go to the operating room
Can't speak for what will happen specifically for prostate surgery. Hopefully a guy will chime in.
For surgery in general ... usually you will have to change into a hospital gown. They give you an identification bracelet to wear and the nurse will check your vital signs -- temperature, blood pressure and oxygen level. The oxygen level is usually a little device they put on your finger. Kinda cool. The nursing staff and doctors you encounter will ask you many different questions. It's not unusual for them to ask the same questions over and over. Questions will involve allergies, medications, and your medical history. Just play along and keep answering. And be honest -- if they ask if you've eaten or drank anything and when, answer truthfully. Questions like that are really important to your safety. You'll usually also meet the anesthesiologist at this point. He/she also will ask questions usually too.
Gallbladder, Gallstones, Surgery, Laparoscopy::
endoscopy with duodenal drainage to check for bile crystals in the gallbladder. What happens to the bile if I dont have a gallbladder to store it?

At some point, you'll almost certainly get an IV inserted in your arm or hand -- this usually occurs before you go to the operating room. You'll get anesthetic through the IV, maybe other fluids or drugs too. Depends on your surgery.
You may have to wait awhile -- sometimes surgeries in front of yours can take longer than planned.
