The beat mostly. Sometimes it's who the artist is. For example Alicia Keys Unbreakable starts off with a nice beat and It did help that it sampled familiar beat. The voice definitely, and the lyrics seconds it. Most of them have life/life aspect themes, but the way lyrics are put together helpd a lot.
Repetitive lyrics are a no-no. Original ones are...well orginal and welcomed.
